Whether we like to admit it we all need a little help sometimes, especially when it comes to developing a business.

Sometimes we don't even know when we need help!

Below are nine signs that you might need a little help to make your marketing strategy shine in 2016 and beyond...

9 Signs That You Need Help With Your Marketing Strategy

1. Can't remember when you last updated your marketing strategy?

If you can't remember when you last sat down and brainstormed new innovative ideas to implement in your marketing strategy then you need to put it at the top of your to-do list! Businesses of all sizes should always be actively thinking of new ideas to help develop their current marketing strategy.

2. Don't feel like your business is growing?

If you feel like your business growth has slowed or stopped recently that shows you are not attracting new customers. If your current marketing strategy is not attracting new customers that's a sign that it's time to call for help and implement a new more effective marketing strategy.

3. Not sure who your buyer personas are?

You know what a buyer persona is, but you are not sure who yours are? It's time to research - ask your customers things about themselves, create surveys, write down anything you already know about your customers, find out as much information as you can so you can create your buyer personas.

Then you can use a refined marketing strategy to reach these ideal customers.

4. Do you aim your content at selling?

Your content should not be aimed to sell your product or service, your business should be creating content aimed to be educational and helpful for your main buyer personas. If you create content that will solve or help solve your buyer persona's problems then they are more likely to see your business as a reliable source and will be more likely to buy your product or service.

5. Is the competition is doing it better?

It's hard to admit it but sometimes someone is simply doing something better than you. Instead of getting angry or upset about the situation, change it.

If your competition is doing it better find out how they are doing better, then you can develop and improve your own ideas so that you are not falling behind the competition any longer.

6. Not seeing a stream of quality leads?

If you're not attracting quality leads on a regular basis it is time to re-think your marketing strategy. Get your marketing team together to brainstorm new marketing strategies, software or processes that will not only attract more leads, but better quality ones who are more likely to be interested in your products / services.

7. Haven't updated your website in a long time?

If you haven't been updating your website regularly than you are not giving your business the online justice it deserves.

Everyone uses the internet to find anything these days, so when they find you make sure they find a mobile-friendly up to date website with the right content and right look.

8. Do you know or have a 'Buyer's Journey'?

For those of you who haven't heard of the Buyer's Journey it's a process that helps businesses identify which information will be beneficial to their potential customers at different stages. There are three stages to a Buyer's Journey - the Awareness stage, the Consideration stage and finally the Decision stage.

If the right content is given at the right stage then your lead will travel along their Buyer's Journey and finish it as a customer.

If you already have a Buyer's Journey in place why not take an hour to look over it and see if there is anything that could be developed or changed?

9. Are you measuring your marketing efforts?

If you're implementing a marketing strategy without measuring your efforts you are simply in the dark as to whether your strategy is working or not.

Make sure you utilise the power of analytics and use them to develop your marketing strategy to constantly attract new and qualified leads for your business.

Now you should know whether you need to set a little time aside to work on your making your marketing strategy shine!
