Secret Santa can be a tricky scenario - what do you get someone when you have no idea what they would like?
It can be extremely frustrating picking out gifts. Could you hold your head up high after buying a silly novelty toy for your boss? If you plan ahead, you could buy the perfect Secret Santa present using just a few easy tips...
Take note of your co-worker's interests
It's never too early to prepare for Secret Santa. So Steve mentioned he likes gardening back in April? Maybe you could get him a personalised trowel? Just make sure to listen a little closer and you could get some ideas just in time for the festive season.
Ask for hints before drawing names
If you've just started working in a new office, you may not have a clue where to start. It may be worthwhile to get everyone to write some ideas next to their name. Also, perhaps try using a site like Elftser to orchestrate your Secret Santa. An advantage of this site is it allows users to create wish lists which can be used for gift ideas.

Stick to the budget
Usually spending around £10 on a Secret Santa present is about right. Don't go majorly overboard and risk the recipient hating their present, which you have just spent good money on. Similarly, spending only £2 is just as bad and should definitely be avoided.
Buy safe presents
You can't really go wrong with chocolates or a bottle of wine. Alternatively, gift cards for shops they love is a good way of getting something they will actually use.
There is no reason to feel bewildered about this year's Secret Santa - remember, it's the thought that counts!
