In a world of increasing FOMO (fear of missing out), it can be frightening to think that we’ve not seen an important tweet or a new hilarious meme.

Twitter has tried to resolve this problem with Moments – where the highlights of the past few days are readily available to see.

The lightning bolt tab holds an array of news stories with sub-sections like: Today, News, Sport, Entertainment and Fun to choose from. Never miss what’s going on in the Twitter-sphere again! Within each moment is a collection of tweets including multimedia tools like photos, videos, GIFs and Vines, so you can get the ‘whole’ story.

While accounts with big followings tend to be prominent in Moments, regular people still have the opportunity to make their tweets appear within a story. This is advantageous for increasing reach. Got something to say about the latest political scandal or celebrity affair? Your opinion has the potential to reach millions through this feature.

Twitter are slowly introducing ‘create a moment’ for every user (only available on desktop at date of publish). Add a title, description and cover, then pick which tweets you wish to feature. You can keep it private by choosing to share it with who you want through a link, otherwise anyone can see it on your profile. It could even make it into the Moments tab!

Twitter Moments has opened up a new dimension; giving users a front seat to live coverage of events. It has never been easier to find out the cultural and popular affairs you’re interested in, all in one place.
