This blog post is great for those who know they need to get their messaging "out there" but need a few pointers as to how to do it - and actually stand out from the rest!

Thinking of new ways to get your company messaging out there can be difficult. Even if you set up a few tweets, you still need to "stand out" and that is definitely not easy.

To help you get started we've put together ten creative ways to make your company updates shine big and bright and put a smile on the faces of your current - and potentially new - customers.

1. Create a Vine

Who knew that a video that lasts just over six seconds could be so effective? But Vines can be a creative and useful way to share news with the world that people will take the time to watch and even share.

Dove is using Vine in a very creative way and here is just one of their many entertaining clips...

2. Make people laugh

People always respond to things that entertain them, so make your latest update entertaining.

For instance, who said that posting job adverts couldn't be fun? Sharing your latest job vacancies on social media is bound to attract more applicants, post it with a related (but funny) image and people are more likely to share your vacancy post with their friends and networks.

3. Always use images

Using images on things like social media, blogs and emails is very important. Images help if you want to stand more chance of "being seen".

Text updates are much less engaged with than those with images as our eye is naturally drawn to hover over a picture, but a text-only tweet can be swiped past instantly.

It might be worth reading our blog post complete with a host of free stock image sources.

4. Host competitions

Doing online competitions can attract a larger audience and make it about something that is happening in your company.

Here is an example of a post you could do on Instagram:

"We are celebrating 50 years in the #stationery business! To celebrate we are giving you the chance to win 50 highlighter pens - Repost this picture with the hashtag #HappyBirthdayCompanyA for a chance to win."

Using competitions is a clever way of guaranteeing a higher interaction rate, ultimately people are after your highlighter pens, but are made more aware of your products and services as a result.

You can even use this technique on both Facebook and Twitter!

5. Start using YouTube

YouTube is a well established online video-sharing website.

Start by making fun, light-hearted videos about your company and the latest news within your company and share them via your social media accounts and website. It could get more people to notice your company and the funnier or interesting your videos are, the more they will be viewed.

Big brands like Nike, Ford and Apple use YouTube and create videos that regularly attract thousands of views.

Remember that your video doesn't have to be something James Cameron would be proud of - it just has to be professional (i.e. suit your audience) and be a little "human"!

6. Create a mascot

Mascots can be great marketing tools for businesses. Creating a mascot that you can use online to post out messages that might otherwise look unappealing is going to help generate a larger audience, especially if your mascot is cute!

7. Write a blog

We aren't saying you should start blogging about everything that happens within the company, but if something exciting is happening you could write a blog on it, if you can link it to something happening like Halloween, the Oscars, things like that is likely to generate a larger readership.

Some examples from Thrive:

8. Get your employees involved

If your employees have professional social media accounts, why not get them on board when it comes to spreading the word about your company and your latest news?

If an employee has had something to do with your news ask them to send an email out, making your updates related to people within your company adds a personal touch to your online presence.

9. Eye catching content!

These days writing great content simply isn't enough, your content needs to work hard to not only attract, but maintain, the attention of your audience.

"How do I create such content?", through funny puns, BOLD FORMATTING (and other formatting) plus answering FAQs!

They're just a few of our initial ideas, but what you write can be just as eye catching as any image when done correctly.

10. Never think inside the box

People see the same things day in and day out on social media, so don't conform to what everyone else is doing, try to be different and people are more likely to interact with your business and want to hear what you have to say.
