Facebook is introducing three new updates to their Live tools to make the creation process easier for publishers.

Live-streaming is increasing in popularity which is no surprise as it’s a fantastic way to let your audience behind the scenes and show them significant moments to strengthen your customer relationship.

Facebook have noted the shift towards live video with ‘daily average broadcasts from verified publisher Pages increasing 1.5X over the past year’ as stated in a Newsroom blog.

So What Is Changing?

Facebook wants to make it easier for every publisher to go live; whether you’re a newbie or a pro. Every business can implement this tool into their strategy with ease to increase reach, engage visitors and delight existing customers.

Persistent Stream Keys

There is a new option to create a persistent stream key when going live on Facebook.

Essentially, this means that after you have ended one live video, you can stream again on the same post using the same key.

Removing the set-up process will ensure you can go live quickly and easily. This would be helpful if you’re live-streaming from an event and want to show little snippets throughout the day as you can use the same stream key.

Live Crossposting

Have multiple pages for your business or want to share content on your partners’ profile? With live crossposting, you can publish your broadcast across as many pages as you like to amplify reach.

Don’t believe it’ll make a difference? Felipe Marcondes, Social Media Manager at World Surf League praises the new live feature:

“The Live Crossposting process is really simple and is the perfect solution for us to not only aggregate our views and engagement on live videos, but to also promote our show in Facebook Watch, Surfing Sundays. We crossposted this recent Live video to our main page, a sponsor's page, and one of our athlete's pages, and the results were great, with more than 1.5M views, 4,500 Shares and over 538K minutes watched.”

Live Rewind

Missed the first part of a live-stream? With rewind, you can replay a moment without losing the live video functionality.

Customers can jump into your broadcast at any time with no worry that they’ve missed something important. They can easily switch back to real time video once they’ve caught up and engage with the rest of your audience.
