5 Ways to Shun That Blogging Slump

Do you ever wait for that lightbulb moment to strike but it never does? You are not alone, my friend.

Writing high quality content is not an easy feat by any means. The deadline could be looming and your mind remains a blank slate. Where could you possibly begin?

Thankfully, we did all the hard work for you by gathering five ways to banish that writer's block for good! (Thank us later.)

  1. Adapt generic blog ideas. HubSpot have generously created a Blog Topic Generator. All you need to do is type in three key words relating to what your business is or what you wish to post about. They will then come up with various ideas for you to tweak and flesh out.
  2. Ask your audience what they want to see. Every blog post's purpose is to convey a message to a certain type of individual. If you're not sure what to write, sometimes it can help to ask "what do my customers want to read?". Seek feedback on social media or do a quick search online to see if other businesses have been asking similar questions.
  3. Look for the latest industry news. Jumping on the latest trends can be extremely beneficial for increasing blog views. Do some quick research on sites like Google Trends or Twitter Search to find out what's popular at the moment.
  4. Always keep a note of blog ideas. Some days your brain just doesn't want to process, never mind think of an original and exciting idea for your blog. Wouldn't it be helpful if you already had a collection of ideas waiting to be explored? Exactly. Inspiration can strike at any time. Create a file on Dropbox. Carry a notebook. Do whatever you need to do that will enable you to record those little thoughts exactly when they occur to you.
  5. Take inspiration from others. It is absolutely fine to read other businesses' blogs and use their ideas to make them your own. If it works for someone else, then it could potentially work for you. However, it is definitely not fine to copy their content word by word. Plagiarism is a big no-no.

Now quit reading and get to writing!
