We agree that Christmas holidays are all about having that well-earned rest, hibernating in front of the fire with turkey sandwiches, but business shouldn’t be totally abandoned.

It’s not about being in the office at 9am or keeping your work phone on at all hours, like any other day, even we enjoy being able to say goodbye to the office once in a while – and Christmas is that only once in a while. However, you can prepare your business so it doesn’t falter over that holiday period. After all if everyone is off work, at home, where are they going to be?

Perhaps they are trying out their brand new tablet and may be looking at your company?

Thrive always recommends planning – if you have planned for the unlikely, then you’re prepared for it. Going along with the idea of everyone playing on new tablets, iPhones and Mac laptops, we advise the majority of your planning goes on ensuring the stability of your website and social media.

On top of preparing your business strategies, consider the practical implications of Christmas, such as:

  • Weather-related incidents: Power failure and travel disruption can all dramatically impact your pre-Christmas preparations, are you able to deal with pipes freezing and phone lines going down?
  • Communication delays: You can’t be on Twitter 24/7, this is a break for you too, make sure your tweeters, callers and followers know specifically when you can reply over the holidays
  • Environmental impact: For at least one day, your office is going to be empty, so make sure all electrical appliances are switched off, this can be done when also ensuring the security of your building.

If you're looking to embark on a website build project, whether it's completely from scratch or a site refresh, our ebook will give you the knowledge to make your project as stress-free as possible.
