As the year draws to a close and the office shuts its doors for Christmas, employees look forward to their annual Christmas ‘do.

Trying to cater to everyone’s tastes can be a tricky task - not everyone is an adrenaline junkie after all. Also, it’s important to keep in mind that some members of the team may not be old enough to appreciate the joy of a night out on the town.

Here are a few suggestions that may take your fancy this Christmas plus some handy links to check out...

Comedy Club

Who doesn’t love a good laugh? A comedy night is a great way to unwind and relax after a busy year of hard graft.

There’s always plenty of shows going on around the North East and it’s relatively cheap per head too, it’s a win-win situation really!

Escape Room

Ever been locked in a room with your colleagues and tried your hardest to escape? Well, you can actually pay money to do this!

It’s far more exciting than it sounds with a variety of different scenarios, puzzles and mysteries to uncover in a limited amount of time. Get a few teams together and make it into a challenge - compete to escape in the fastest time and the losers can get a round in afterwards!

Cocktail Making

Don’t just buy a drink, make your own with Revolution’s Cocktail Masterclasses!

Learn about the best spirits and ingredients, then dazzle your colleagues with your impressive mixing skills. It’s something different to try for Christmas rather than visiting the local bars.

Lane 7

From a game of bowling to ping pong, Lane 7 has everything you could possibly want in a night out. Not only that, they have an amazing bar and restaurant too - everything is under one roof!

With venues in Newcastle and Middlesbrough and another opening in Durham soon, it’s ideal for any corporate events you might be planning in the future.

Ice Skating

If your team likes to be up on their feet doing something active, then take a trip to Times Square in Newcastle where you can have some wintery fun on their ice rink.

Whether you could give Torvill and Dean a run for their money or you’re more like Bambi, you’ll have a great time no matter what your skating ability is (maybe just wear a helmet to be safe)!

Pantomime

Curtain up! Christmas time is when all of the best pantomimes are in town.

There are some famous faces in this year’s performances such as Louie Spence in Darlington’s Aladdin and Jamie Lomas in Sunderland’s Peter Pan - they’re not to be missed!
