Slack is an online communication tool for businesses to use to discuss projects, work collaboratively and share files with one another.

There has been a slowly-growing buzz around this app and it has finally hit the UK and the North East.

In recent months we’ve had a number of queries about the messaging app, officially launched in February 2014, so here is the lowdown…

What is Slack?

It is a messaging app - but more than that - for teams and workplaces of all sizes and can be used on varying platforms and devices, allowing you to chat one-on-one with colleagues, but also as a group.

You can upload and share files with one another and integrate Skype, Trello, Dropbox and other platforms for a wider performing app.

What will it cost me?

There are two tiers: Slack for Teams and Slack Enterprise Grid.

Slack for Teams works well as a single workspace for your SME. There are three levels of pricing for Teams:

How did it become so successful?
