Trello is the app that allows you to organise everything - from hen parties, to marketing campaigns to product launches and the bathroom schedule (hey, who are we to judge?).

If you're new to Trello or you have it because someone - perhaps our Director, Rachel - enthusiastically recommended you download it instantly, but you still need some guidance on how to get the most out of Trello, this is for you!

There's no need to thank us - it's what we do...

The Beginner's Guide to Trello

Once you're signed up, you will be introduced to a board. A board is the place where all of the action happens.

You will see your lists and on your lists you will have multiple cards. These cards are where you assign your tasks or campaigns - whatever it is you're organising.

The beauty of Trello is that it works wonderfully on all devices - including desktop browser and tablets. You simply drag and drop each card across your lists or up and down your lists.

How to use my cards

Cards are a key part of the Trello experience. Simply edit the title of your card and then add various things such as members, due dates, attachments (great for collaborative working) and checklists.

To make the most of your cards, if they're tasks or campaigns - a checklist will allow you to assign multiple actions to ensure the overall objective is achieved.

Top Tips for Trello

There are shortcuts and 'top tips' for everything, but we think Trello is already an amazing platform, so these top tips are incredible for improving your ease of use and knowledge...

  • Add due dates to selected cards quickly with the “d” shortcut.
  • Notify members in a comment by @ mentioning them by their username. This will send them a notification. Use the reply link in another member's comment to automatically @ mention them in your reply.
  • Sometimes emoji speaks louder than words. Add emoji to card descriptions, checklist items and comments by wrapping the emoji name in colons. Create your own custom emoji with Trello Gold (paid feature).
  • Convert an entire spreadsheet column into Trello cards by copy and pasting the list into a new Trello card. This also works with any line separated list!
